Everyone knows him as the King of Bollywood, India’s biggest superstar. But have you ever heard the journey of such a famous celebrity? I am going to share a few heart-touching stories of Shah Rukh Khan.
Losing His Parents Early
He lost his parents at a very young age; they died of cancer, and even though his family was far from rich, at that period it was hard for him to express his emotions to anyone.
Why Shah Rukh Khan Chose Acting
So he turned his way to acting to cope with the loss. He moved from Delhi to Mumbai, where he started his career in a TV series in the late 1980s.
Except for his pure talent, he didn’t have any connections in Bollywood like others who have strong connections in the industry.
Starting From Scratch
He started from scratch. Shah Rukh Khan didn’t have a fairy tale life; no family, no influence; he was nobody, except for his talent, but he didn’t care.
He just wanted to pour his real feelings into the auditions, whatever small roles he got, and something magical happened. He achieved exactly what he wanted. Not only fate but also his hard work makes him reach where he is now.
Building a Family in Bollywood
In many of his interviews he has said that while coming from Delhi, he has no family, but he found a new family in Bollywood in the form of filmmakers, producers, and the actresses who played with him in many movies.
Passing the days in Bollywood, he learned the lessons to give the best out of all his roles, whichever he was given by the director, from villains to the most passionate romantic man. His experiences make him more genuine, vulnerable, and real in front of the camera.
Staying Humble Despite Superstardom
He continued to grow not only in acting but also as a humble person, where he received love from Bollywood and from all over India.
In one of his interviews, he has stated that “So many of them have all come together and helped me become who I am, not just as a movie star or as an actor, but as the person that I am. And I owe this to them.”
He is not just entertaining; he is relatable. This is the reason he was crowned the king of Bollywood.
Rejecting Hollywood for Love of India
Here’s one more interesting thing about him: with so much talent, he was offered to entertain Hollywood; he could easily earn more money, but he refused to leave his industry.
His dream and his goal are to bring glory and pride to India and Bollywood. Because Bollywood and India have given him much more and accepted him at the time when he was an orphan.
Shah Rukh Khan: The People’s Superstar
Even now, after almost 3 decades, he still honors and promotes India with his movies once a year without any selfless mission. So this is the reason that he befits the king of Bollywood.
The lesson we learn from Shahrukh Khan’s story is that we can have the ability to be anything if we wish and focus with dedication on what we want to achieve.
Last but not least, he has earned several awards in his name, like the Zee Cine Awards, IIFA Awards, and much more. Not only that, he has been awarded the Padma Shri Award by the Government of India, as well as the Order of Arts and Letters and Legion of Honor by the French Government.
